Evelyn was considered the "office manager extraordinaire" during her 8-year tenure with the RIGA. When the office phone would ring, she would always answer, "Good morning, Rhode Island Golf, this is Evelyn." Prior to her stint at the RIGA, Evelyn worked for Uniroyal, Inc. in Providence, manufacturer of the old Royal golf balls and clubs. She was known for her dedication, work ethic and efficiency. Evelyn passed away Sept. 8, 2024. She was 96.

Founded in 1902, our primary mission is to promote, protect, and preserve the traditions of the game of golf in Rhode Island. As "caretakers" of the game we work to preserve the rich history of golf in our state and to provide numerous services that benefit all that play the game.
The Rhode Island Golf Association is an association of Member Clubs. Individual members of a member club have the ability to join the RIGA and be eligible to participate in RIGA events. The RIGA conducts championships for Men and Women for higher level golfers and Weekly events that are intended to be more social.
