Tiverton's Conway wins state golf title
CRANSTON - Tiverton's Ben Conway overcame a two-stroke deficit over the final two holes as he captured the individual title in the R.I. Interscholastic League golf championships today with a even-par 71 in the second round of the 36-hole tournament at the Cranston Country Club.
Yesterday's performance gave Conway a 36-hole total of 147 and a two-stroke margin of victory over Barrington's Matt Osman. Conway had trailed Osman by two strokes going on the 17th hole, but the Tiverton senior birdied both the 17th and 18th while Osman double-bogeyed the 18th.
