- Lisa McGill, the 2022 RIGA’s Women’s Player of the Year, will attempt to qualify for the 2023 U.S. Senior Women’s Championship. A member at The Misquamicut Club, McGill’s scheduled to qualify Aug. 3 at Allendale Country Club in Massachusetts. - Sam Morrell is enjoying a fantastic season. Currently an assistant pro at Warwick Country Club, the past Button Hole and RIWGA standout, won the 24th Connecticut Women’s Open on June 6 at Rolling Hills Country Club. She’s recently competed in the 2023 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Baltusrol in Springfield, N.J., but did not make the cut.
- The field is impressive for the upcoming Women’s Amateur & Senior Amateur Championships Aug. 1-5 at Kirkbrae Country Club. There are five past champions competing, including Kylie Eaton, Emily Brooks, Valerie Blinn, Marisa Brown and Nancy Chaffee. The 2022 Junior Girls’ Amateur Champion, Olivia Williams, is also playing.
