Women's Championships
The RIGA conducts over 26 Women's Events. There are four major championships, 17 weekly play dates, 2 Mixed Tournaments and five weeks of Team Matches. In addition, there are three affiliated regional events members will be eligible to participate.

*2025 Withdrawal Policy*
If you withdraw from an event before the registration deadline, there will be a $5 transaction fee. Therefore, if you paid $80, $160 or $320 for registration and then decide to cancel before registration closes you will receive a refund of $75, $155, or $315 respectively.
If you withdraw from an event after the registration deadline, there will be no refunds given.
However, if you find a substitute to fill the empty spot on your team, then you may substitute that person(s) and work out payment between players.
I will always do my best to help you find someone that may want to play but please keep in mind; this is not a guarantee.

Vision: Let's get together to kick off the season! Come and play a few holes, reconnect with friends and make some new ones - maybe even find a partner for a Summer Tournament!
What to expect:
Access up to 8 Trackman Bays - each bay will have a different golf course; so, come play your favorite course or one you've never been to before.
I will bring bottles of water and cheese and crackers for everyone to share
Players are allowed to bring their beverage (&food) of choice - soda, wine, beer etc.
I will update this page as the date draws nearer with suggestions for restaurants in the Newport and Bristol areas, incase ladies want to make it a "night out" and head out to dinner after golf.
This is open to all women golfers - you do not need to be a current RIGA Member to attend. However, everyone attending will need to register through Golf Genius.

Tournament Format:

Two player sign-up.
Players will play to 100% of their handicap.
Roster will be selected on April 2, 2025 - Pairing requests will be accepted beginning April 3, 2025
Format: Chapman System works like this:
- Both golfers on a side play their drives.
- For the second strokes, each plays the other's drive. Golfer A goes to Golfer B's ball, and Golfer B goes to Golfer A's ball.
- After the second strokes, one ball is selected to continue with, and that ball is played alternate shot into the hole.
- The golfer whose second stroke was not selected is the one who plays the third stroke.
Tee Times beginning at 8 a.m.

CART AND CADDIE POLICY: Players are permitted to employ a caddie or carry their own bag at any stage of the
competition. Caddies cannot be over the age of 18. Motorized carts are not allowed. Push carts are permissible.
Spectator carts are not allowed.
DRESS CODE: Proper golf attire is expected. Collared shirt and slacks or knee-length shorts only. Examples of attire
not acceptable: short shorts, cargo shorts, athletic shorts, jeans, jean shorts, tank tops and t-shirts.

2025 RIGA Women's Team Matches
August 19 – September 30
Format: Four-ball Match Play. 1 point for each hole won and ½ point for each hole halved. 18
points per match. Ties will be honored. It will be the responsibility of the hosting clubs coordinator to arrange tee times. Winner of each Cup will be based on total accumulated points from the 4 matches.

Eligibility: The Team Matches are open to any member club of the RIGA. A team consisting of four players and 3 substitutes, with current handicaps, may enter. There will be 5 teams per Cup/Bowl & each club will have a "bye" at their home course. Hosting clubs are re- quired to have a volunteer be present when their club hosts. Should more teams apply for competition than positions are available in total number of Cups, more Cups will be added to include teams, if they round out completedivisions. If not, then the teams with the low- est handicaps based on index numbers will be selected.

completed entry form by the due date. Entries must be received at the RIGA office by August 5, 2025 be accompanied by the entry fee of $640.00 per
Team (made payable to the RIGA).
Handicaps: Any player competing must be able to
produce 4 (18-hole) scores from the Club they are
representing between April 1st to August 5th season to verify their handicap based on index numbers. Cups will beseeded using August 6th revision. Maximum 10 stroke differential between (2) team players & all 7 players will be used for team handicap seeding

The only exception will be in the case of a new member who will play with entering index for a pe- riod of One Year from date of entry unless they go down. A player belonging to more than one RIGA Member Club must play at her lowest handicap.
Substitutes: Are encouraged - rosters will be frozen as of August 5 once the Cups are made and distributed to all participants.
Substitutes Updates:
- They must be a member of a RIGA Member Club & have paid their RIGA Membership
- They can only "sub" one time
- They may not be a"sub"for another team submitted by the club
- The 10 stroke differential will apply
- One time subs must also have 4 scores posted at theclubtheyarerepresentingbetweenApril1st& August 4
Disqualification & Default: Unless play is officially suspended or cancelled by the Superintendent, Golf Professional or otherauthority of the host Club, a team will be disqualified and withdrawn from Cup Competi- tion if it does not complete the stipulated round on the scheduled day. All points won, lost, or halved by the
disqualified team in matches already played will be null and void.

Pace of Play: Please refer to the RIGA for the pace of play policy.

Cancellation of Play: Play will be cancelled only if the course is deemed unplayable. If a course is deemed unplayable or become so during a round, these matches will be cancelled , not discontinued or suspended, and replayed at a later date.

One-Day Series
NOTE: The Misquamicut Club (April 30), Newport CC (May 5) and Sakonnet GC (June 10) will be part of our new One Day Series as individual rounds. It will be a two-person signup and formats will be announced. The RIGA will be utilizing a new online lottery system via Golf Genius for these one-day events. Each round will cost $195 per player. Registration window has closed.
