NARRAGANSETT – Point Judith Country Club was the backdrop for an amazing day as Cindy Silvia and Terri Birmingham won the Junior/Senior Championship.

Despite the early-morning gusts, the team from Green Valley battled the conditions and finished 5-over (77) en route to victory. Wannamoisett's Angel MacLeod and Maura Thursby finished second (7-over), while Val Blinn (Montaup CC) and Leony Hartig (Wanumetonomy G&CC) came in third at 9-over.

Birmingham described the winning round in a simple way: "Fantastic."

"We had some good holes, some bad holes, but we didn't screw up on the same hole," Silvia said.

The teammates complemented one another well during the round.

"Drives – Cindy's drives," Birmingham said with a smile was the key to their success.

"Terri made a few important pars, and few really long putts," Silvia explained.

Point Judith is one of 11 Donald Ross courses in the state and it's in incredible condition – as always – which was a treat for the Junior/Senior Championship.

"Point Judith is always a treat," Silvia said. "The course is always in great shape, and the RIGA staff is always amazing."
