2010 MAJOR CHAMPIONSHIP ONLINE REGISTRATION
The 2010 Major and Weekly Schedules are set. Online Registration for all Major Championships will begin on Wednesday, January 20th at 10:00 am. Anyone who would like to register will need a GHIN number to sign in and create a profile. This years online registration system will allow a player to sign up for multiple championships at one time. If you need your GHIN number please contact the RIGA office at 272-1350. Once you create a profile you can also pay 2010 RIGA Membership dues by clicking the tab called "program signup".
Also, a few additions have been made to this years schedule. On July 13 at Pawtucket CC the RIPGA and a selected group of Amateurs will revive the pro's vs amateur event that was started back in the Mid 80's.
The Men's USGA State Team will be conducted again this year in Santa Rosa, CA in mid-September. Rhode Island will also host the New Engald Senior Amateur at Pawtucket CC and the Tri-State Matches at Metacomet CC.
The biggest change will be opening up the Rhode Island Open to let any golf professional play through qualifying. All RIPGA and NEPGA affiliated pro's will be exempt from qualifying. The Weekly Invitational program will also have a few changes for 2010. A sixth golf course has been added to each of the five packages. Carnegie Abbey and Shelter Harbor will host a weekly for the first time and a few other private clubs have agreed to host multiple weeklies.
Wannamoisett CC will host the Amateur Championship July 6-10 with a Saturday finish and the Weekly Net Championship on Oct 19th. Changes to RIGA policies and tournaments will all be listed in the Winter newsletter which will be sent out in late January.
